The Latest... Coming Up
Please Support Our Relay Team!!
Central is participating in Relay for Life to raise money for the American Cancer Society.   This year’s Relay for Life event will take place at South River High School starting on Friday, June 2 at 6 pm.  This is a great community event with games, musical performances, and food.  We would love to have Central families come out to support the team as we participate in this 12-hour walk.  Participating in Relay for Life is a great way for us to remember those we have lost and show our continued support for Central’s families and community members who are survivors.  If you would like to donate money to support our team financially, please use the following directions:

  1. Go to: relay.acsevents.org/
  2. Click “Donate” at the top left-hand corner
  3. Select your donation amount.
  4. You can direct your donation to Central’s team-Central Elementary School

At sundown, Luminaria bags will be lit in memory of or in honor of loved ones and friends who have, or have had, cancer.  The American Cancer Society suggests a $10 donation for each Luminaria bag.  If you would like to create a Luminaria in honor of a loved one, please email Mrs. Rivera (rjrivera@aacps.org) with your child’s name, teacher, and the number of bags you would like.  She will give the materials to your child.
FIELD DAY IS COMING!!!!

Field Day will be next Friday May 19th
Here are a few reminders that I like to send out every year to help Field Day run as safe and smooth as possible.

  • Have your children bring filled water bottles. (We will have a water refill station)
  • Make sure they have their name on the water bottle so that we can identify it if they lose it.
  • If your children suffer from bad allergies and can’t be outside after a certain amount of time, please inform their classroom teacher before Field Day.
  • Have them dress appropriately for running and playing in outside weather. Hats are strongly suggested!  (Avoid flip flops if possible)
  • And most important…SUNSCREEN!!!  Please make sure you apply it before Field Day starts. If you give it to them to bring in and reapply, that is fine, however, teachers are NOT allowed to apply sunscreen on their students.
  • If you are coming to Field Day, please DO NOT allow any of your children on the playground equipment for their own safety.

If there are any questions, please feel free to Email me.

Thanks so much for all of your help!
