TIGER TROT 2017!!!

You know that your participation in the Tiger Trot benefits our school, but what’s in it for you?  (No, you didn’t say that out loud….but we wanted you to know that we’re thinking about making the event great for everyone who registers!)
Our April Fool’s Day run will include:

Warm up with the Navy Sprint Football Team

– National Anthem sung by our Honors Chorus

– April Fools’ pranks along the course

– a jester hat and medal for each runner 12 years old and younger

– Post-race runners’ breakfast

– Kona Ice (!!!)

It’s almost Tiger Trot Time!

Please join us for the following Spirit Nights in March to help raise money for our awesome school!

  • Eat at Chipotle (Edgewater location only) on Wednesday,  March 22nd 4-8pm and mention Central Elementary School. Our school will receive 50% of the profit!!!
  • Eat at Chick-fil-a (Edgewater location only) on Monday, March 27th 5-8pm and mention Central Elementary School. Our school will receive 15% under $500, or 20% over $500!

The more people who eat, the more money we earn. This is a fun and easy way to support our school!

This e-blast – and a big part of this year’s April Fools’ Tiger Trot – brought to you by Academy Mortgage, Diamond Sponsors again this year!   Also, AlterEgo Salon and Kim Pell, Champion Realty are supporting our race weekend again!  These are 3 businesses that have supported CES for years!  We are off to a good start with $1,125 in Tiger Trot sponsorship raised in the first week!  Our local businesses are so important to this race. TIGER TROT 2017!!!

It’s that time of year again! Registration is open for our 12th Annual Tiger Trot Family Fun Run! The Tiger Trot will be held on Saturday, April 1st at 8am.

  • The run will have an April Fool’s Day theme this year! Be sure to keep a look out for funny things along the course. You do not have to be a runner to participate. Lace up your sneakers and run, walk, and have lots of laughs throughout the morning!
  • Also, join us the night before the run, Friday, March 31st at 6pm for a
    Pizza Dinner and Auction! There will be new and exciting items to bid on this year!

News From the Music Department:

Our 1st and 2nd grade chorus concert will be on Thursday, February 16, at 6:15p.m. Participating students should arrive at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria as, we will be singing on and in front of the stage. Students should wear their class shirts for both the daytime dress rehearsal and the evening concert. If students did not order a class shirt, 2nd grade should wear yellow and 1st grade should wear orange. Please contact Mrs. Mignon or Mrs. Ciecierski if you have any questions!

Parent Coffee on February 6th
Mrs. Sue Young, our guidance counselor,  will present Positive Strategies for Addressing Anxiety, Stress, and Challenging Behaviors in K-5 Students.  Mrs. Young is an amazing resource for all CES families, and this session will give you tools and language for better parenting your anxious, stressed and/or challenging kids.  Please join us at 9:15 a.m. in the cafeteria!

1st & 2nd Grade Spring Chorus Concert

Our 1st and 2nd grade chorus concert will be on Thursday, February 16, at 6:15 p.m. Participating students should arrive at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria as, we will be singing on and in front of the stage. Students should wear their class shirts for both the daytime dress rehearsal and the evening concert. If students did not order a class shirt, 2nd grade should wear yellow and 1st grade should wear orange. A Forum for Parents of Children with ADHD

These hour-long, moderated sessions will allow parents an opportunity to ask questions,
discover successful parenting strategies, and interact with other parents
in the ADHD community.

In January there will be two opportunities to participate:

1/18/17 from 10 am-11 am
1655 Crofton Blvd., Suite 302, Crofton, MD 21114
or
1/31/17 from 6 pm -7 pm
Bestgate conference building in Annapolis
